take back what’s yours.

That’s the kind of statement that should be in all caps…. screamed at the top of your lungs and pursued relentlessly. Ya know?  It just feels right that way.

My mom bought “Meet Joe Black” back before DVDs were affordable…. it’s so long that it’s 2 VHS instead of just one.  I only bring that up because, a. it’s super weird that DVDs are the norm, and actually are now old technology and b. because there is a part of that movie that was in my head when I woke up today, and kept replaying as I went on my run….

Love is passion, obsession, someone you can’t live without. If you don’t start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who’ll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I’m not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you’ll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love – well, you haven’t lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven’t tried, you haven’t lived.

….Unless it’s mad, passionate, extraordinary love, It’s a waste of your time. There are too many mediocre things in life. Love shouldn’t be one of them.

 -Meet Joe Black

I believe that with my whole heart.

It’s like…. swimming, but only using 1 arm and 1 leg.  You can stay afloat for a while, but eventually you’ll drown and in the meantime, you’re only going in circles.  Passes the time, but gets you nowhere and leaves you exhausted and…. well, in the long run, dead.  I want to be alive; I want to be passionate, I want to be on fire.  I stole this next quote from my favorite chocolate-sharing friend Kyle…. “more people should be chasing things they want, instead of hoping things don’t fall apart. breathe fire.”  Yep.

Awhile back, my friend Lauren introduced me to the rave scene…. and I documented all about it here.  It’s crazy how different it is from the rock/punk music scene…. kids go nuts!  Here are some photos from DJ dynamic duo Kids At The Bar‘s set at the Avalon in Hollywood, opening up for The Sounds.  Check out their remixes here!

Now…. I think I’ll go find a piece of beach to call my own for a few hours….. wanna come?? 🙂
